Restaurant profit and break-even calculator
Put in one month of numbers. See what is left after every cost, and how much you need to sell each day before the restaurant makes any money at all.
| Food cost | |
|---|---|
| Fixed costs (rent, staff, utilities, other) | |
| Profit for the month | |
| Profit margin | |
| Break-even sales for the month | |
| Break-even sales per day open |
Food cost and delivery app costs grow with sales; rent, staff, utilities and the rest are treated as fixed. This is a planning estimate before income tax, not accounting advice.
How to read the result
Break-even is the sales at which you cover every cost and make ₹0. Each rupee of sales above it leaves you a profit equal to what is left after food cost and app costs. If your daily break-even is close to your normal day, one slow week puts you in the red, so look first at the biggest fixed cost and at your food cost percentage.
Many Indian restaurants aim for a 10–15% profit margin. Selling more through delivery apps raises sales but also raises your variable costs; check a single order with the commission calculator.
